Description
A traditional African-American gospel song for male quartet, based on the Soul Stirrers’ 1947 recording. Voicing is TTBB, but with two soloists (baritone/tenor) – which although written here as additional voices, the resulting six voices could be reduced to four – the soloists do not sing simultaneously, so there will still be three voices to sing the crucial harmony notes in the background. cf. the Heavenly Light Quartet: https://theheavenlylightquartet.bandcamp.com/track/john-saw-the-holy-number
