Thanks to all the chums who came to the DESIGN FOR LIVING CD launch last night. You beautiful human beings who came from all over (Melbourne/Adelaide/Christchurch!) were the most receptive and fun audience ever. Thanks to Jonathan Zwartz, Evan Mannell, James GreeningAndrew Robson, Lisa Spence & Virna Sanzone for extraordinary diligence & a top-shelf band experience. Thanks to Peter Dasent for being my long-time collaborator & instigator & for topping off my experience of the evening with his sublime & volatile solo piano arrangement of the tune Arthur Baysting & I wrote in 1981, ‘Jacaranda’. Why no-one filmed or recorded any of this is a mystery…but thanks to Vandana Ram for the photos.

As well as all the songs from the album, Peter played two solo piano pieces, one of which was the from his beautiful piano album ‘Songs For Solo Piano‘; I sang my so far unrecorded song Holy Day, and we finished the night with a bit of a knees up on Little Richard’s ‘Directly From My Heart To You’.
